Here at Heron, the safety and happiness of our customers is of the utmost importance. When a wild animal or rodent inhabits your home, attic, crawl space or shed, it’s not something to be taken lightly, it should be handled with rapid response. This is because not only are wild animals unpredictable but they also can wreak havoc on your home, costing you thousands of dollars in repairs.
Did you know that wildlife and rodents will use attic and wall insulation, debris from outdoors and even live electrical wires that are running through the house, to turn your attic into their home? Not to mention that wildlife and rodents can also carry a variety of zoonotic diseases, can be infested with fleas and ticks and can also leave behind pounds of feces in the places they were nesting which can be very toxic to humans and pets if inhaled or digested.
For these reasons and many others, it is important that if you notice a wild animal or rodent living on your property, to leave the animal alone and to call a professional wildlife technician immediately to handle the problem. If you do have reason to believe there is an animal on your property or if you have seen an animal, Heron Pest and Wildlife Solutions will be more than happy to visit your home and perform a FREE inspection to safely check for any animal activity and to carry out any further necessary action.
We remove Armadillos, bats, birds, bobcats, feral cats, moles, opossums, raccoons, rodents, skunks, snakes and squirrels.
If an animal is found living on your property, one of our highly trained and licensed wildlife removal professionals will either remove the animal by hand or if he/she cannot find the animal at that time, they will set up a trap to capture the animal when it comes back to its hiding space. Usually, animals such as raccoons or opossums will leave their nesting area at night and early morning, in search of food but will return when the sun rises.
If a trap needs to be set, our technicians will come by every day to check the trap until the animal is caught.
If a trap is left at your home and you notice an animal was trapped inside, please call our office immediately and our technician will come by to pick up the animal.
If the animal is in good condition, we will release it at a safe, wildlife release area. If the animal is sick or rabid, other steps will be taken.
Heron pest and wildlife has partnered up with local wildlife rehabilitation organizations that will accept any hurt or orphaned baby animals that we find. When the animal is well enough to be released back into the wild, the rehabilitators will release the animal at a safe release area. Read more about our animal relocation and rehabilitation.
